Oh my, I haven't attempted to write in at least 6 weeks. I offer my most humblest apologies to Carol, who by herself has kept our blog going, for my lack of attention to our commitment to one another. I love this blog. I love writing. Unfortunately, life is not always kind or as Beerhound would say, "Life is indifferent." I say, " life is not fair". "Not fair" is the definition of our last name but then, I don't live in Chad, Africa. I have fresh water. I have relatively clean air. I can celebrate my beliefs, no matter how much that angers the Right. I have a great deal to be thankful for and I try to remind myself of this daily.
Right now, I haven't much to say (well, I always have a lot to say, who am I kidding?). My family are conquering mountains that were unexpected. The climb has been overwhelming, tedious, and too difficult to allow concentration on much of anything else going on. One day, when all is said and done, I'll find my sense of humor and I'll put pen to paper so to speak.
So., I will leave you with this few tidbits of strength and joy;
*(Even someone 9 days away from turning 50 can appreciate Miley Cyrus. It's true.)
"The Climb"
That dream I'm dreaming, but
There's a voice inside my head saying
You'll never reach it
Every step I'm takin'
Every move I make
Feels lost with no direction,
My faith is shakin'
Gotta keep my head held high
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down, but
No I'm not breaking
I may not know it, but
These are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most
I've just gotta keep goin',
Just keep pushing on, cause
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb
Keep on movin'
Keep climbin'
Keep the faith baby
It's all about, it's all about
The climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith
