Another day on the farm…,

On the farm today, cleaning saddles, digging posts, stringing fence.  It was beautiful, bright blue, sunny.  Simply put, a glorious fall day.  I, of course, was cleaning saddles because I don't dig holes, carry posts or get dirty.  I do, however, take pictures and enjoy the sun.  Even the kids got involved.  Our Epic Lizzie, the real pioneer woman worked right along side Beerhound and Mike, directing, sweating and pulling the weight of two men.  That dear reader is what living on a ranch is all about.  Too much work, too little time but a chance to enjoy the world around you in all it's glory.

 

Could skies be even bluer? and after Hurricane Sandy, we feel thankful to have made it through safely

 

Mutt can always be found helping. It's amazing what a five year old can do with a ball.

 

Even if helping means kicking a pink princess ball. Hey is that Beerhound back there helping Epic Woman push the auger down? Why isn't he pushing? Oh yeah, that's because he's Beerhound and she's Epic Woman.

Finally, the men take over. Epic woman taught them what to do and every Epic woman needs a pink wagon to keep her tools in.

 

Ep Even Rue helps, by keeping an eye on things. Of course that's all he does. He doesn't even help herd the horses. Kind of a waste of good dog breeding.

 

That was our Saturday, followed by a nice BBQ.  Notice the beers if almost every picture.  Let's call it, "Where's the beer?"  That is how Epic Woman talks Beerhound and Mike into working.  Do you think they would really just put up fences on their initiative and steam.  Hell, no!  It takes a woman to make that happen...., and beer.
